Sodium nitrite is not only an antifreeze chemical admixture for early-strength cement concrete, but also a catalyst for the hydration and hardening of early-strength cement.
Sodium nitrite is also a corrosion inhibitor for metals. After the surface of the metal is dipped with sodium nitrite solution, it can be corrosion-inhibited for about half a year. Sodium nitrite is often used as a rust inhibitor for castings.
